The New Orleans Vietnamese New Year Festival is held February 10-12th. This festival is a unique celebration of the vibrant Vietnamese community in New Orleans and their rich cultural traditions. Each year thousands of people attend Mary Queen of Vietnam Church to experience firecrackers, fireworks, and dragon dances. There’s also folk music, dancers and traditional games. Traditional Vietnamese dishes such as banh mi, grilled meats and tasty fruit drinks are served alongside delicious classics such as Vietnamese po-boys. Zulu 24th Annual Lundi Gras Festival
The Zulu 24th Annual Lundi Gras Festival takes place on February 27th, the Monday before Mardi Gras. Come see why this traditional day of merriment has been called “The Greatest Free Show on Earth”. Live music is on the stage all day long featuring acts such as the Rebirth Brass Band, Pin Stripe Brass Band, The Revealers, and Michael “Soulman” Baptiste. These acts bring the true feeling of Mardi Gras with their New Orleans sound. If food is what you’re into, then look no further. The Lundi Gras Festival boasts New Orleans delicacies such as po-boys, crawfish, shrimp, alligator, jambalaya, red beans and rice, crab, and sausage.
