The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport Holds Car Seats with Ease

December 3rd, 2019 by

When looking for a family car, especially when you have young children, you need a vehicle that is going to be ideal for car seats. The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has received a mild update that focuses on its safety features. The design keeps the sun out of the kids’ eyes, and the backseat slides forward and back. This SUV is also very car seat friendly.

The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is Great for the Kids
The 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has enough room in the backseat for two car seats. The top tether anchors have flip-up plastic covers. They are located halfway down the back of the seat so they are easy to find. Both forward- and rear-facing convertibles fit in the seats. If you prefer high-back boosters, they also fit well.

The latch connectors are about an inch into the seat cushions, so you do have to push into the seat cushions, but this goes hand-in-hand with the quality of the seat materials. Nonetheless, the Santa Fe Sport received the following grades from Cars.com:

B for LATCH system
B for infant seat accommodation
A for rear-facing convertible seats
A for forward-facing convertible seats
B for booster seats

An A grade means that there is plenty of room for the child and car seat and that the front seats aren’t impacted in any way. The LATCH and tether anchors are easy to find, and there are no fit issues. A B grade means that there is plenty of room, but that there may be at least one connection or fit issue.
